CECPE and UW EdPOL Ph.D. Students Present at National Education Finance Academy Annual Meeting

In April 2025, CECPE Phd student and Ballmer Phd Fellow Fanny Pacheco and UW EdPOL Phd students Ji Ho (Geo) Yang and Lu Xu presented research at the annual meeting of the National Education Finance Academy (NEFA) in Charlotte, NC. Fanny presented preliminary results of a study titled “Unionization in the Early Childhood Education Workforce”, which explores barriers to forming unions within early childhood settings. Geo presented his study, “Education and Race: The Cultural Schemas Behind School Resource Management,” drawing on his dissertation research. Lu presented two studies examining the cost of college promise programs and patterns of teacher turnover among high school STEM teachers, also drawing from his dissertation research.
